When are appointments available?

Appointments are available from Monday to Friday during school hours.

What is the fee?

Details of fees can be given on request.  I do have specialist provider recognition with a number of health insurance companies and so the cost of your sessions may be covered by your insurer.

How can I arrange an appointment?

You can telephone me on 07700 349343, leaving a brief message and contact number.  You can e-mail if you prefer, but I would usually like to talk to new clients so that we can discuss whether an initial meeting would be helpful.  If this is the case, I would usually agree a session with you in order to assess whether clinical psychology consultations and/or psychological therapy could be helpful to you at the present time.  If we do decide that further sessions would be helpful, it is at this stage that we can agree a number of regular sessions.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you have to cancel an appointment then please contact me on 07700 349343 and leave a message.  If you leave me at least 24 hours’ notice then I do not charge for missed appointments.

What will the initial appointment involve?

The first appointment is designed to develop an initial psychological understanding of your difficulties and for us to decide together whether psychological therapy is appropriate for you at this present time.  If psychological therapy is appropriate, then the initial session also provides opportunity for us to agree your therapy goals and decide what kind of therapeutic approach would be useful.

This first appointment usually last for 90 minutes whilst subsequent sessions last 50 minutes known as a ‘therapeutic hour’.

How many sessions will I have?

Typically between 6 and 25 sessions are agreed but this can be significantly longer or shorter depending on each person’s needs.  Sessions are usually agreed on a weekly basis but sometimes fortnightly sessions are arranged.  I review progress with clients on a regular basis and the number of sessions agreed may be revised.  If you change your mind at any time, you are free to cancel any agreed sessions.  Sometimes follow-up sessions are arranged after weekly therapy has ended to maximise the progress gained from sessions.
